E’mani Daugherty, DEI business partner of Recruitment and Retention, said that she’s grateful for her mom, who “good or bad, win or lose, is always going to love and support me unconditionally.”
“I’m grateful that I work for a company that allows me to be me and show up as my true, authentic self, every day,” said JR Reyes, core senior account manager.
Samann Rahimi, Executive Visibility Manager, said that “I’m grateful for such a supportive and diverse team.”
Having “a team that is empathetic and collaborative” is something that Joe Gonzales, employee relations, principal, said that he’s grateful for.
Garrett Hembree, senior manager of Talent Operational Excellence, has much to be thankful for this year, including his family, who he said has “been so supportive of the last two to three challenging years and has been there for my growth and development.” He’s also grateful for his team at Blue Shield who “always show up.”
Miranda Macias, associate well-being analyst, said, “This year, I’m grateful to have a supportive team who understands the importance of family and my overall wellbeing.”
These messages of gratitude were followed up by a word from our president and CEO, Paul Markovich.

I’m thankful for the privilege of working with incredible people every day to ensure that we create a healthcare system worthy of our family and friends, and sustainably affordable.
