Blue Shield of California has much appreciation for the people who show up every day to turn our mission and values into action while transforming the healthcare industry. To show our appreciation for our staff, we celebrated Employee Appreciation Week, March 20-24, with a variety of events and perks for our people.
Employee Appreciation Week events and perks
During this special week, each person was given $25 to donate to the charity of their choice, had access to special backgrounds for their virtual meetings, had fun with a virtual photo booth, were offered a number of virtual volunteer opportunities, and received employee recognition points to reward their coworkers. In addition to these events and perks, each day of the week had a special theme for the virtual photo booth and everyone was encouraged to post photos to the enterprise social network platform relating to each day’s theme. There were also larger events for our people to enjoy including a dueling piano show, a magic show, visits from local dog rescues, virtual dance parties, and trivia.

On Monday, Blue Shield Spirit Day, everyone was encouraged to sign up for a free virtual mindfulness meditation, virtual trivia, and a dance party.
